Ogilvy & Mather’s “Game Changers” UPS Campaign

UPS and Ogilvy & Mather NY engaged T3Media to help them execute an integrated campaign in support of the UPS NCAA sponsorship.  The campaign highlighted the role of “logistics” in the sport of basketball and business alike, with a 30-second spot titled “Logistics of a Game-Winning Shot” as its centerpiece.

To bring their creative vision for this spot to life, Ogilvy licensed footage from T3Media of Grant Hill’s full-court pass that led to Christian Laettner’s buzzer-beating shot in the 1992 Men’s Basketball Regional Finals between Duke and Kentucky. All available angles of the footage were used to showcase the precision and coordination of the pass and game winning shot – “No pass, no shot.”

T3Media worked with the NCAA to gain approval for minor digital alterations of the footage by the Ogilvy creative team, as well as the use of the corresponding NCAA radio call for the voiceover.  Additionally, our Rights & Clearances team successfully secured permissions from the featured universities, players, and referees.  To learn more about the campaign, click here.
